Now, it is time for a trip
down memory lane....Back in the fall of 2003 I was an avid card maker,
using my favorite technique, called "dry embossing". My always
supportive husband had build me a super power light table to feed my
"addiction" and with only a few tools, I was able to create beautiful,
one technique, greeting cards.
I found myself working on these cards every spare moment I had, and within a couple of weeks, I had made about 100 cards. With Christmas around the corner, there were plenty of Christmas markets to choose from where I would be able to display my works of art. I chose a local market in Cloverdale, Surrey, where we were living at the time. After taking great care in setting up my craft table, I was ready for business. Throughout the day I had many creative people stopping by my booth, often inquiring about the technique and tools I used for my projects, but I only sold very few greeting cards that day. It was then, that I realized how many creative people are ready to work hands on, on their own paper crafts. This was, and still is, a big industry in the making.
"If I could only find a way to combine my passion of cardmaking, sharing the techniques with others and selling the product I used for my projects."
Kitty corner from me was a STAMPIN'UP demonstrator showcasing her displays. She was busy taking orders and filling up her classes most of the day. I was inspired by her gorgeous display boards of greeting cards, gift boxes and scrap book pages and took her business card home with me. The next day I signed up as a STAMPIN'UP demonstrator.
Stampin'Up is a fabulous company to work for.

Today, seven years later, I am living in Campbell River with my husband, Kelly and our three children. I am teaching a variety of classes, having my own BLOG www.rubberideas.com that is filled with creative inspiration and a source for gift purchases and my exclusive tutorials, selling STAMPIN'UP product from a catalog and online. My business allows me a fun outlet in which I can share my passion with others, while giving myself a pay raise!
